Dear Lane Families and Friends,

This year is already a year of promising change at Lane Tech.

Under the leadership of our new principal, Dr. Chris Dignam, Lane Tech is undertaking a major technology upgrade that will transform the way our students are engaged in the classroom and enhance the variety of instruction they receive. The goal is to outfit all 150 classrooms with state-of-the-art instructional tools including SMART boards and iPads, and to increase the use of technology throughout the school.

Changes are well underway. The Lane Tech Alumni Association and Lane Tech Century Foundation have awarded more than $250,000 to renovate outdated classrooms and to create a new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) wing complete with a leading-edge Aquaponics facility. Upgrades will continue throughout the school year.

Now it's our tum to do our part.

Please support the PTSO 2012 "Shoot for the Stars" Giving Campaign by making as generous a gift as possible. Your gift will help put technology in the hands of each Lane Tech student and ensure that our students remain competitive in high school and beyond.

Every gift, no matter the amount, makes a difference. Our goal is to have 100% family participation.

To reach this goal, we will be calling families who have not made a gift by November 1 to remind them of our campaign.
