About Us

ž

The Lane Tech PTSO is an all-volunteer, parent-driven, Lane Tech Community organization and registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. Our goal is to build community and support Lane Tech parents, teachers, students, administrators, and staff.

We offer our parents an avenue to stay involved in your student’s education and be a part of Lane Tech. We recognize teachers, administrators, and staff with an annual appreciation luncheon and breakfast. In addition, we offer Teacher Grants to help bridge the funding gap and provide the necessary materials to students to expand their learning opportunities. We also provide students with service learning opportunities and Senior Scholarships.

Fundraising Committee: Organize and coordinate the annual letter-writing campaign, parent to parent gatherings and other events that raise funds to support Lane Tech High School. Contact: Carmen Mendoza or Monica Ginsburg fundraising@lanetechptso.org

Community Committee: Organize and staff events that build and support our Lane Tech Community including Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon (Dec. 14, 2012) & Breakfast (May 10, 2013), Open House (Nov. 4, 2012), Report Card Pickups (Nov. 13, 2012 & April 18, 2013) and other gatherings. Looking for new ideas and fresh faces! Contact: Melissa Morales, community@lanetechptso.org

Parent Network Committee: The hope is that this committee will eventually produce an e-newsletter which provides timely information to parents. Also encourages parent involvement at the school and in the PTSO through events directed to parents. Need parents with design, writing, editorial or computer skills as well as those who are just eager to help. Contact: Beth Strever, network@lanetechptso.org

Parent College Committee: This committee will provide information to parents about the college application process and supports efforts of the school counseling department and career center. Will hold informational meetings for parents to help navigate the college search and application process. Participation is suggested for Junior or Senior parents or parents with recent, college application experience. Contact: Victoria Smith, college@lanetechptso.org

LTAC Committee: This committee is geared toward the students of Lane Tech’s Academic Center. We want to address your needs, but we need YOU to do that. Help us develop this committee and the direction it will take. Contact: Liza Brown, LTAC@lanetechptso.

Lane Tech Spirit Store Committee: This year the PTSO has taken over the school store and is selling Lane Tech spirit wear to raise funds for the school. A committee chair and volunteers are needed to shape the direction of this effort. Contact: Maureen George, spiritstore@lanetechptso.org
